Patti Jo McCloskey

Patti Jo McCloskey, age 75, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Born in Britton, South Dakota, Patti graduated from Oakes High School in Oakes, North Dakota in 1964. She was a member of the Carolina Pines Home & Garden Club and Grace Lutheran Church. She gave of her time freely to help others, whether volunteering with the Salvation Army or delivering hot meals to seniors through the Meals on Wheels program. In her spare time, she enjoyed bird watching and spending time with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Curtis J. McCloskey of the home; daughter, Lisa DellaRatta (Thomas) of Havelock; granddaughter and her "Sweetpea," Alexa DellaRatta of Havelock; stepdaughter, Shanda McCloskey of Oregon; sister, June Meehl (Harold "Gus") of Oregon; brothers, Keith Meyers of South Dakota and Richard Meyers of Arizona; nephew, Tony Meehl; and nieces, Becky Pullem, Kim Long, and Susan Meehl.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. on the afternoon of Friday, February 4, 2022 at Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
