

Peggy Jenkins Justice, 80, of New Bern, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of Friday, September 9th following an extended stay at Vidant Medical Center. She was born in the summer of 1936 in the small community of Ayden to her parents, the late Jack and Mollie Jenkins. She grew up in Havelock with her three brothers and later met and married her beloved husband of 42 years, Bert Justice, who passed away in 2004. Peggy was retired from Navy Supply at Cherry Point and had also served as a substitute teacher at Newport Elementary School. A woman of faith, strength and joy, she was a longtime member of Cherry Point U.M.C. and was very devoted to her family.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Friday, September 16th at Cotten Funeral Home with her nephew, Chaplain Kenny Jenkins officiating. Interment will be private at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Newport.
Peggy is survived by her two daugthers, Pam Bolesworth and husband Bill of Hollywood, Md. and Tina Justice of Havelock; granddaughter, Sarah Bolesworth of Hollywood, Md.; three brothers, Paul Jenkins and wife Geneva of Newport, Jim Jenkins of Winterville and Charles Jenkins of Fayetteville; two special friends, Carolyn Weeks of New Bern and Faye Barefoot of Winterville; and a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
