

NEW BERN – Philip Graham Geib, 79, died August 27, 2011, at home. A decorated veteran of the Vietnam conflict, he served his country as a fighter pilot in the US Air Force and received three Distinguished Flying Crosses, a bronze star, and twelve air medals during the course of his twenty-year career.
He is survived by Barbara, his beloved wife of 59 years, daughter Linda Samaritoni and husband Jack of Indiana, son Douglas and wife Kim of Florida, son Steven of New York, daughter Patricia of New Jersey, grandchildren Eric Samaritoni and wife Deborah, Adam Samaritoni and wife Hong, Daniel Samaritoni and wife Jorden, Christopher Geib and wife Jessica, Jennifer Geib, Jaime Geib, and Taylor Geib. Three great grandchildren also survive, Cooper Geib, Marlee Grace Geib, and Hannah Samaritoni.
On Sunday, Sept. 4, 2011, at 2 p.m. Pastor Ted Rust will lead a memorial service at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. Following inurnment in the columbarium on the premises, a reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
