Phyllis Allen Powell

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Robert Perry “RP” Powell; her parents, Fred and Claudia Allen; and two brothers, James and Fred “Ted” Allen.

She is survived by her son, Perry Powell (Jennifer); two daughters, Katherine Wells (Robert) and Teresa Gaskins (CJ). Three granddaughters, Claudia Cooper (Greg), Carsin Powell and Lauren Powell; five great grandchildren, Blake and Nora, Cameron, Kaylee, and Ashton.

Phyllis loved crafting, decorating cakes, sewing, taking piano lessons and going for long drives around Craven and Pamlico Counties. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Pleasant Acres and New Life Church. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and friend who will be missed dearly. We can only imagine the reunion in Heaven with her large family and many friends that went before her.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at the chapel of Cotten Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Coghill officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
