Rebecca Gilbert Wagner, affectionately known as Becky, age 80, of the Clarks Community in New Bern, North Carolina, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2025. She was born on June 7, 1945, to Lloyd Gilbert and Jessie Helen Campbell.
Becky was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Gilbert, and Jessie Helen Campbell; her husband, Curtis Wagner; her brother, Lloyd “Whip” Gilbert; and her sisters, Lucy Cottle and Dolly Bennett.
She is lovingly remembered by her brothers Jimmy Gilbert and Billy Gilbert (Martha); her sister, Mary Hill; her stepdaughter, Vanessa Bryant (Bill); three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and in-laws. Becky also leaves behind her cherished companion, her fur baby Mack.
Devoted to her family and friends, Becky was known for her warmth and good nature. She was an avid reader and found immense joy in traveling with her husband, especially looking forward to their annual trips to the mountains.
Becky’s faith was central to her life, and she was a longtime member of Spring Hope F.W.B. Church. She loved her Lord deeply and served her church community faithfully.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9, at the Lakeside Chapel in Greenleaf Memorial Park, 900 River Rd, New Bern, NC. The service will be officiated by Reverend Robert Langley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Becky’s name to Spring Hope F.W.B. Church, located at 100 Spring Hope Church Road, New Bern, NC 28560
