Richard Mudge Paganucci

He was born on December 12th 1948 to Alberoni and Irene Paganucci in Ellsworth Maine and grew up in Augusta, Maine. Throughout his childhood he was active in sports, playing basketball and football in high school.

He then attended the University of Maine, graduating in 1971. While in college he played football for the Black Bears, was in Army ROTC, and was a proud member of the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. During his time at Maine he met and fell in love with Paula Yuengling.

Following college he and Paula married in Annapolis, Maryland. They spent time in Portland, Maine and Derry, New Hampshire before settling down in Doylestown, Pennsylvania to raise their two sons. He spent his career in the insurance business. While in Doylestown he was an active participant in youth sports as a coach for his sons’ teams and as a referee for high school football.

He continued his athletic lifestyle throughout his life playing softball, running, swimming almost every day, and of course golf. He enjoyed his evenings and weekends on the golf course with friends and his sons. After retirement he enjoyed spending his summers in Maine and winters in New Bern chasing the perfect golfing weather so he could play all year.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Y. Paganucci; and extended family: Craig and Laura Paganucci and their children Caitlin and Gabriel, Joe Paganucci and Laurie Holtz and their children Beau and Quinn, and his brother Fred.
