Betty... I love you and have been praying for you during this devastating time. I'm not very good with words, but I want you to know that Bob will always be close to my heart. He is one of my heroes and mentors in life, as are you. The love you both showed for the Hispanic community and the kindness and friendship you showed our family to this date is unparalleled.  You did all things right there at his side--Mother Teresa of the Hispanic community, as my husband has said many times! You both have been (and still are) an inspiration to me, and when I think of all the love and sadness I feel for Bob, I feel an overwhelming feeling of love for you and wish I could give you a hug. I don't know the right words to console you, because I know there is nothing I can say to calm your pain. Despite how much you two teased each other, it was always apparent to me that you are soulmates. And there aren't words to ease the terrible despair you feel to be separated from him. So at least know, that you are never alone. That so many people love Bob, love you and will be praying for you, and that many mourn the loss of our great friend. Bob was a person who gave so much of himself that to many of us we feel as adopted family members of your family. Right now I am sending you a big hug, and as I shed tears for Bob, I lift up those tears as prayers for you and your family and the soul of my beloved friend. God Bless you Betty!  I love you, the Medina family loves you. And Bob-- Descansa en Paz! Te amamos!

Betty, thanks for the years you let me be apart of Bob's life and I will cherish those memories forever. I'm glad that God sent a good man for your partner in life and love. Please keep Bob alive always in not only your heart but your sons.

My family and I would like to offer our most sincere condolences and prayers in the passing of your father.  I only had the privilege of meeting him once, but in that brief time I was able to experience his wonderful sense of humor as he gave my youngest son, Mike, advice about his girlfriend.  I know he was a wonderful father and man which reflects through the way you live out your life and vocation.

I salute Master Sergeant (ret) Robert Calabrese for his life and selfless service.  Great man and great soldier. It was my privilege to know him and serve with him.  My deepest sympathy is with his family and friends.
