Rodney "Pops" Wilton Dalhouse

Rodney Wilton Dalhouse, 82, of New Bern, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, December 10, 2021. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a longtime employee of Delta Airlines, retiring after 32 years of service. Rodney enjoyed traveling, especially to "The Great Land" of Alaska, where he fished for thirteen summers. He was a great storyteller and used that talent as a tour guide at the New Bern Fireman's Museum. Rodney served as a deacon at CrossRoads Baptist Church for more than ten years and was the resident joke-teller at the church.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret Dalhouse; sons, Mark Dalhouse (Mary Ellen) and Timothy Dalhouse (Alicia); grandchildren, Braden Dalhouse, Theodore Dalhouse, Noelle Dalhouse, Alexander Sigler, and Scott Largent; sister, Frieda Overstreet; brother, Warner Dalhouse (Barbara); and his beloved dog, "Dexter."

The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at CrossRoads Baptist Church, followed by the memorial service at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Valeu officiating.
