Russell Daniel Coogan

August 30, 1936 – December 28, 2023 of New Bern, N. Carolina; age 87, passed away peacefully at his home to be with the Lord. He is predeceased by his sister, Deanna Stanley. Russell is survived by his loving daughter, Stasia (Stacy) Coogan, grandson, Derek Dimsey, a great-grandson, and two nephews.

Russ attended Syracuse University with a B.A. and, also attended the University of Baltimore School of Law. He proceeded to a brilliant career, practicing law for 46 years. He was district attorney of Niagara County, NY in 1979-1983, and later was City Court Judge of the City of Lockport, NY. He retired as New York State Administrative law judge.

For many years, Russ enjoyed boating on Lake Ontario and was a member of the Tuscarora Yacht Club in Wilson, NY. After his retirement, he traveled from New York, Florida and N. Carolina, visiting his family and close friends. As well, welcoming anyone who wanted to visit him.
