Sabra Pauline Hall

Sabra Pauline Hall passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, at her home in New Bern NC, at 65 years old. She was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother & friend. A force of nature who fought for those who couldn't or wouldn't fight for themselves. She sought to educate the world in order to give power to the powerless & free others from the prison of being unheard or misunderstood. An empathetic soul & fearless advocate of the humanity in all of us.

Sabra was born in New Bern on December 13, 1960 & was a lifelong resident of Eastern North Carolina. From childhood, her biggest dream was to become a mother. After all five of her children were in school, she made the decision to further her own education. Earning a degree in Massage Therapy & later a degree in Human Services Technology, both with honors. Being inducted into the Phi Kappa Honor Society. Also, a member of the Tau Upsilon Alpha, the National Organization for Human Services Honor Society; certified in suicide prevention, peer support & addiction counseling.

She loved her family, friends, the beach, thrift stores & loud music on car rides. She had an unconquerable spirit who possessed an amazing sense of humor. And whose laughter could fill a room &, many times, would start the whole room laughing.

Leaving behind to honor and cherish Sabra's life and memories are her spouse, Lee Berkebile. Her children Kathryn "Katie" Toler Carawan of Aurora, NC, Leighann Rhodes (Nathan) of Newport, NC, Jesse Toler (Christin) of Raleigh, NC, Dylan Elliott of New Bern & Zachary "Zack" Elliott of New Bern. Grandchildren, Shane, Scott, Riley, Adrianna, Lucas, McKenzie, Finn, Asher & Jasper. Her Aunts, Judy & Kathryn (Fred) & countless friends whom she considered family.

She was preceded in death by her loving mother Patricia Ann Lawrence, father William Hall Sr., her brother Lawrence "Larry" Hall & her beloved grandson, Lawrence Elijah "Eli" Rhodes.

A celebration of Sabra's life will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 2:00 pm at Cotten Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors following the service.
