Sarah Imogene (Cagle) Fail

She is predeceased by her husband, George L. Fail. Sarah loved caring for children and the elderly. She was active in local churches each place she lived during her life Including Alabama, North Carolina, Virginia, Florida, Georgia, France and in Okinawa where she did missionary work. She was a devoted wife of a retired US Army 1st Special Forces Green Beret. She worked at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro until she took a early retirement and then did private sitting until the age of 75. Sarah made everyone feel special and never met a stranger.

Sarah is survived by her sons, Bobby Gene MacPhail (Mary Ann) and George Thomas Fail; daughter, Susan Marlene Fail Adams (Douglas); grandchildren, Bobby Gene Fail (Meghan), Chris Adams (Christy), Chasity Miller, Tammy Sheene (Dallas), Caroline Adams (Wesley Mayo), Donald Adams (Emily) Lacey MacPhail (Scott DeVall), Matthew Adams (Conner), Thomas Fail (Brandi), Katie Penn (Rob), great grandchildren, Megan, Sara, Hallie, Raelyn, Colston, William, Alexus, Jade, Caleb, Ely, Dylan, Courtney, Lilly, Evelyn, Madeline, Robert III, Zachary, Brody, Tripp, Perry, Tomilyn, Thea, Beau and Iver.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at New Life Church in New Bern. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Burial will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington. Arrangements by Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
