Sharon Ann Lord

Sharon grew up in Richmond Hill, NY and attended Bishop McDonnell High School. Sharon eventually moved to Garden City, NY, raising her 4 children. Sharon decided to go to college during this time and graduated from Hofstra University. In 1989, Sharon and her husband, Howard Lord, moved to New Bern, North Carolina. From there, Sharon became Executive Director of Smart Start, which supported children throughout Jones County, NC. Sharon loved adventure and traveled to Ireland and Mexico extensively.

Sharon became an avid photographer, her pictures becoming quite popular within the New Bern area and with her family and friends. The beach in Emerald Isle, NC became her home, spending hours, days and weeks with her many grandchildren. Indeed, Wonderful Mimi, as known by her grandchildren, loved spending time with them in the surf, playing Scrabble, as well as serving them her famous lasagna :)

Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Lord, and her sons, Thomas Luhmann (Ann Marie) and Eric Luhmann (Susan). Sharon leaves behind her brother, Dennis Gallagher (Rita). Sharon was a loving mother to Keri Luhmann Quinlan (Bruce) and Lara Luhmann Ross (Jeff). Mimi was beloved by 11 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
