

Shelley Repplier Weaver Gaumond, 78, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died peacefully at her home in New Bern, North Carolina on Saturday, 23 April 2022. She was born on 26 December 1943 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Clifton Stokes Weaver and Katherine Warburton Sutton.
She attended Pine Manor and Holton-Arms schools. She married Giles Howard Gaumond on 2 December 1978 at their home in Rockville, Maryland. Shelley was a fine miniaturist and enjoyed creative writing and gardening. She wrote a children’s book which the family hopes to have published posthumously, as well as, a personal memoir.
Surviving besides her husband are three sons, Chris Chamberlayne, Colorado, Scott Chamberlayne, Florida, and Joseph Gaumond, Texas; one daughter, Ashley Gaumond, New Bern; a step-daughter, Angie Gaumond, Nebraska; two sisters, Kathy Orme, Maryland, and Rhea Topping, Argentina; seven grandchildren, Jesse Chamberlayne, Morgan, Raven and Britton Chamberlayne, Caiden, Reilee and Taylor Gaumond; and two nephews.
Memorial service will be private. No funeral. The body will be cremated. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Compassion & Choices, or the Disabled American Veterans organization.
