

Ms. Price was born in Kinston, NC on September 12, 1931 and moved to New Bern in 1955. She was an active member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a member of the Polly Russell Circle where she served as President several times as well as Secretary and Program Chair. She was a past member of the adult choir and an active member of the Alter Guild. She was a door Greeter, office assistant and a past member of the Alter Gate Sunday School Class. She portrayed Mary and the Heavenly Angel in the Living Nativity Scene at Christmas. Virginia helped with the Old Homes Tour in the kitchen as well as in the homes. In the past she helped prepare and deliver food baskets at Christmas and she helped wrap Christmas gifts at the mall for the Cancer Society. Virginia was sure to show love and care of other residents at Bayview Nursing and Rehab Center.
Ms. Price helped the Salvation Army during Christmas, she worked at RCS sorting clothing and stocking food. She was a long time member of CRMC Auxiliary Volunteer working in the Emergency Room as well as training others to work in the ER. She enjoyed working with the staff and helping others.
She went thru the First Citizens Police Academy and volunteered in Support Service and helped others in her class. She was called "Sweetie Pie" by the New Bern Police Department. Virginia worked at the Mum Festival operating a booth for the New Bern Police Citizens Academy ad she loved every minute of her time there.
She loved her family and her pets.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Pattie Bostic, Daughter, April Walston; granddaughter, Meredith Walston; two brothers, George and James; two sisters, Elizabeth Walters and Carre Smith. She is survived by her son, Lee Wilson (Betty) of Wilson; daughter, Pattie Wilson Brown (Roy) of Greenville; son, Scott Wilson (Jill) of Cedar Point; grandson, Dustin (Annalei) of Swansboro; three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.
Her service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Cotten Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
