Wendy Gale Bennett

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Wendy Gale Bennett, who peacefully departed this life on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the age of 57. Born on July 25, 1967, Wendy brought joy, light, and unwavering love to all who knew her.

Wendy, a cherished resident of New Bern, lived a life marked by boundless compassion and a spirit of generosity. Her infectious laughter and warm embrace will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel seen and loved, leaving an indelible mark on every heart she touched.

More than anything, Wendy treasured her family. She poured her heart into raising her beloved children: Steven Hill; Kimberly and John Leder; Amber Hill and John Meadows; and Nicole Hill and William Pugh. They were the pride and joy of her life. She shared loving relationships with her spouses, Tony Curtis Hill, Thomas Ray Mitchell, and Erik Adrian Bennett.

Wendy was the cherished daughter of Jesse Carlsen and Calvin Carlsen. She was a loving sister to Heather McDowell, Christy Carlsen, Sherry Carlsen, and Calvin Carlsen Jr., with whom she shared a special bond. Her legacy of love, strength, and kindness will continue to live on through all of them.

We find comfort in the words of Psalm 34:18: "The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we hold onto the promise of eternal peace and cherish the beautiful memories we shared with Wendy.

Wendy's memory will forever be a guiding light in our lives. She will be dearly missed by her children, their spouses, her former spouses, parents, siblings, and a host of extended family and friends who were blessed to know her.

Services to celebrate Wendy's life will be held at a later date. Details regarding the specific date and time will be announced by the family.
