He is survived by his wife, Marie Price Henderson, one son, Sherwood Christopher Henderson and wife Kim of Kinston; one daughter, Susan H. Corey of New Bern; one brother, Claude Bryan Henderson and wife Casey of Westerville, OH; three grandchildren, Jason Martin, Alex Henderson and Hannah Henderson, many nieces and nephews and his special friend, Bill Willis. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Gertie Henderson and a sister, Melba B. Wheeler.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 13, 2012 at Lakeside Chapel, Greenleaf Memorial Park with Rev. Neil Hearn officiating.
