He is survived by his son William Gregory Pappas, his daughter, Donna Pappas Riggs, both of Cove City; one sister, Virginia Tilghman of Cove City and three grandchildren, William Jeremy Riggs, Justin P. Riggs and Shane Pappas.
Bill was a member of Wintergreen Original FWB Church, Ionic Masonic Lodge no. 583, York Rite, Scottish Rite , the Sudan Temple and he retired from N.C. D.O.T.
Services will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Wintergreen Original FWB Church with Rev. Neil Cox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 4:00 prior to the service.
