Born in Kansas City, Andrea was the beloved daughter of Gina and Steve Studer, and Bob and Phillis Smotherman. Above all else she was so proud of her children and the amazing caring young adults they have become.
In 2014, Andrea moved to Boerne, Texas, with her late husband, Clayton Martin, whose passing in 2015 brought profound sorrow. Despite the challenges she faced, Andrea’s resilience and boundless love guided her forward.
In 2016, Andrea met her soulmate, Tom Goike, with whom she built a life filled with joy and purpose. Together, they created a loving home in New Braunfels, Texas, where they moved in 2020. Their love story culminated in marriage in 2022. A deeply special moment came in January 2024, when Tom adopted Andrea’s daughters, Sophia and Addison, completing their family.
Andrea’s greatest pride and joy were her children—Sophia, Addison, and Katilyn. She poured her heart into motherhood, creating a home filled with laughter, warmth, and unwavering support.
Andrea’s empathy and kindness touched everyone she encountered. As a nurse, she cared deeply for her patients, offering comfort and compassion in every interaction. Known for her thoughtfulness, Andrea never forgot a special day, ensuring those around her felt loved and appreciated. She built a home that radiated beauty and joy, always putting others first and leaving a legacy of kindness and selflessness.
Although Andrea’s battle with chronic pain ultimately overwhelmed her, her life remains a testament to resilience, love, and the profound impact one person can have.
Andrea is survived by her husband, Tom; daughters, Sophia, Addison, and Katilyn; her parents, Gina and Steve Studer, and Bob and Phillis Smotherman, Cody and Ashlyn Alford ; their daughters Payton and Piper; and countless friends and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.
A celebration of Andrea’s life will be held on. Friday January 24th from 5-7 at Zoeller funeral home in New Braunfels Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a small garden of bluebonnets in a place of your choosing as these brought her joy and happiness. Let us honor Andrea by extending kindness, understanding, and love to those who may be silently struggling.
