Andrew Marbach

Andrew E. Marbach of Seguin passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Kirkwood Manor in New Braunfels at the age of 81. Mr. Marbach was born October 23, 1929 in Cibolo Texas to Hugo and Hedwig (nee Laubach) Marbach. Andrew was a graduate of St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy, and retired from the Civil Service at Randolph Air Force Base in 1987. He loved his wife and family, baseball, and hunting and the outdoors. He helped establish the city park and baseball field in Converse, Texas where the baseball park was named in his honor. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Pauline Marbach, daughter Deborah Marbach and her husband Phil Mitchell, son Gary Marbach and his wife Teri, son Keith Marbach and his wife Alexandra, Daughters-in-law, Kathy Marbach and Tressa Marbach, ten grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his sons Steve Marbach and Tom Marbach. Visitation will begin at 4 pm Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Zoeller Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 5 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 1 pm Monday, October 10, 2011 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels with burial to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in San Antonio.
