Angelo Martin Mancuso, 89, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 6, 2020. He was born in Freeport, Illinois, on August 31, 1930. He was raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he met and married his wife of 67 years, Mary Louise Lawrence Mancuso. The couple moved to Houston, Texas, where they raised their family. After high school, he proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Shelton from 1947-1951. He then worked at Ethyl Corporation and Arco Chemical Lyondell. He took an early retirement so that he and Mary could travel the US in their motorhome. Angelo was an intelligent, self-taught, hard-working man who was compassionate and friendly. He was ingenious and could fix or build anything. He was witty and always kept us laughing with his crazy antics.
Angelo is preceded in death by his parents Martin and Jennie Mancuso; his son, Larry Wayne Mancuso; his grandson, Joshua Colin Brister; his great-granddaughter, Emilee Ann Rosebud; and his sisters, Mary Sharon, Jeanette Campanile, Angelina Pitre, Margaret Campanile, and Barbara Warner.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, and his children, Julie (and Bobby) Reilly, Janet (and David) Morse, Diane (and Tom) Pelczynski, Carol (and John) Kowis, Brian (and Thuy) Mancuso, and Angela (and Frank) Baker; 16 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Martin Mancuso, Jr. and his sister, Katherine Patin.
