Bennie "Ben" Boles

He grew up in East Texas the eldest of 11 children. At 17 years old, he enlisted into the Army and in 1961 married his sweetheart. After 4 years of enlisted service, he graduated OCS and earned his commission. Ben and Louise raised their two children, Carolton H and Shanna K Boles. In his younger adulthood, Ben devoted his life to God, his family, and serving his country. After 28+ years of service, Ben spent 15 years teaching ROTC and was a Gideon. After retiring again, Ben and Louise became recycle parents to three of their grandchildren Drake, Kayla, and Morgan Boles. He was also a scout leader, an Elder of his Church, and a strong advocate for Christian education. He enjoyed traveling many places and visiting Washington state, lending an ear, tending to his garden, sharing time with his family, and in his late years you would always catch him watching old western movies with his Scottish terriers Murphy and Finnley.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father Artel and Bennie Boles, and his daughter, Shanna K Boles. He leaves behind his wife W Louise Boles, his 10 brothers and sisters, his son and daughter in law Carolton H and Katherine Boles, his 9 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren.A memorial service for Ben will be held Friday, August 20, 2021 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church, 410 W. Hutchison St., San Marcos, Texas 78666.
