Carrie Arriaga Garcia

Carlota Arriaga “aka Carrie A. Garcia” went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2018. She departed very peacefully, with family near her bedside at Sundance Inn Health Center in New Braunfels TX. She was born in Gruene TX July 5, 1921.

She is preceded in death by her parents Dionicio and Gregoria Arriaga, two sons George A. Garcia, Gus A Garcia, sisters Pauline Bailey, Angelita Morales, brothers Melquiadez Arriaga, Johnny Arriaga, Cenobio Arriaga, Felipe Arriaga.

She is survived by her sister Hortance A, Barnes, daughters Carrie Rodriguez and husband Carlos Rodriguez of Fort Worth TX., Sarah Ann Ellis and husband Don Ellis of Dallas TX., Maria Garcia and Husband Jim Garcia of Converse TX., Eve Juarbe and husband Dan Juarbe of Peoria AZ., sons John A Garcia of Chula Vista CA., Robert A Garcia of Canyon Lake TX., Guadalupe A. Garcia Jr of New Braunfels TX.

Carrie enjoyed playing bingo 4 to 5 times a week when she was able to. She enjoyed watching Tele Novelas. Whenever we had family gatherings she would tell the grandchildren jokes and entertain them. She is a Gold Star Mother of the American Legion. A member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Guadalupanas. She was a strong lady who raised 9 children and taught them to always be respectful and kind to others. She was a mother, sister, aunt, grandmother to 26 grandchildren, Great grandmother to 35 great grandchildren, Great great grandmother to 3 Great great grandchildren, and a friend to all. She knew and touched the lives of so many people in New Braunfels; she will be dearly missed.

Public Visitation will begin 5:00 PM Monday at Zoeller Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Burial will take place at a later date in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
