

Bill Kieke passed from life through death to life again in Christ forever on Sunday, July 9th 2017. Bill was a loving husband to his wife Jenna, wonderful father to his two children Kyle Kieke and Kristin Kieke Kunoff, and adored his three grandchildren Wyatt Kieke, Micah Kunoff, and Ellie Kunoff. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Hilmer William Kieke and Barbara L. Kieke.
Bill was born on Sunday, June 17th, 1956 in San Antonio, Texas, and grew up in Austin, Texas. Bill graduated from Dripping Springs High School, class of 1974, and attended Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, Texas, where he graduated in 1978 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education. During his time at Texas Lutheran, he met his wife Jenna, where they married before Jenna graduated from nursing school.
Bill taught music for two years in Three Rivers, before moving back home to Austin to work in the family electrical contracting business at Kieke Electric Company. Upon moving back to Austin in 1981, the first of his two children, Kyle, was born, followed by his daughter, Kristin, in 1984. Bill worked at Kieke Electric until 1991.
In 1992 Bill began working for Zachry Construction Corporation in San Antonio, Texas, in the power division. After moving his family around the southeastern United States at several job sites, Bill took a position at the home office in the estimating department and moved his family back to San Antonio, where he worked until leaving the company in 2002.
After leaving Zachry, Bill took a position with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bulverde, Texas, as the Music Minister and enjoyed arranging music, and leading the choir, praise band, and handbell choir. Later he was the choir director at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blanco, Texas.
Bill loved the Lord and felt called to help spread the gospel. As a result, he along with his closest friend, Al Leadaman, spearheaded a church planting team for LCMC, Lutheran Churches in Mission for Christ and worked extensively with new LCMC congregations across central and south Texas.
Bill was many things throughout his life. He was supporting of his wife and loved by his children and grandchildren. His family was always at the forefront of his mind, and even though he wasn’t as physically able in his later years, Bill was always generous and a gracious host to anyone who came his way.
Bill enjoyed watching NASCAR and following the Texas Longhorn football team. He enjoyed the peacefulness of being outdoors, whether that be fishing, hunting, or just sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee watching the birds and deer.
He loved music and was known for his incredible dancing which included a mean polka. Dried deer sausage, shortbread cookies, fried shrimp, and a glass of good scotch were some of his favorite things to enjoy.
A Public Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will take place Friday, July 14, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Braunfels, Texas. Burial will follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
