Charles Frederick Steitle

He is survived by Linda Knell-Schoening; brother-in-law, Bob Martin; nieces, Wendy Martin and husband Carl, Michelle Kirby and her husband Tony; nephew, Steve Martin and his wife Patti and their children, Shannon and Jeff and also aunts and uncles from the Steitle and Jonas families. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jackie Martin; mother, Alice Steitle Gafford and his father, Alfred Steitle.

Charlie was very proud of his family and his German heritage. Wurstfest was his New Year. He had strong feelings of affection and respect for Veterans. He served in the Army during the Vietnam era and had close friends who shared in that experience. He was a systems engineer at the Dean Word Co.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, February 4, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Zoeller Funeral Home. Services will conclude at the funeral home.

The family has requested that memorial contributions be given to the Vietnam Veterans Foundation or the Sophienburg Museum.
