
Danny Lee Rust passed away on June 14, 2013, with his family by his side. He was born on January 29, 1947, to Johnnie and Margaret Rust. Danny was an avid fisherman, bowler, hunter, and enjoyed camping each year for six months with his friends from the northern states whom he became very close to. He grew up on ranches that his Dad worked at around Comal County. He attended Sherwood School before transferring to Marion in 1962 where he graduated.
Danny became an ironworker and then a welder by trade. He was a welder for 30 years building some beautiful handrails, ornamental gates and patio covers that he was very proud of. Many of which are still in place at Canyon Lake where he had his business and home for 23 years.
He married the love of his life and fishing buddy, Karen Schulz, on September 23, 1967. He was preceded in death by both his parents and sister, Deborah Froeboese. He leaves behind, his wife, Karen Rust, sons, Darryl Rust (Becky) and Wade Rust (Lisa), and the joy of his life, his grandchildren, Devon, Danny Rust II, Jase and Jena. Also surviving him are nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home with the family being present at 6:00 p.m. to receive visitors.
