Darlene Nolte Moore, age 79, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, May 31, 2018. She was born June 28, 1938 in New Braunfels, Texas, to Chester Nolte and Clara Letsch Nolte. Darlene graduated from New Braunfels High School, Class of 1956. She married Don Moore on January 11, 1958 and they celebrated their 60th anniversary this year. She was a lifelong member of The First Protestant Church, and volunteered throughout her life with Beta Sigma Phi Service Sorority, The Sophienburg Society, The Heritage Society, Meals on Wheels, and Special Olympics of Texas. Darlene’s life revolved around her family and friends. She will be missed by many.
Darlene’s brown eyes sparkled when her husband and love of her life would tease her, but snap and crackle shiny black if anyone dare cross her. Darlene loved to read books, absorb knowledge, and was very organized which made her the perfect legal secretary for over 40 years with The Law Offices of Bartram, Reagan, Burrus, Dierkson and Lamon, and special assistant to Lucy and Raymond Bartram at the Texas House of Representatives in Austin, Texas.
Darlene could plan her way out of or into any situation, and she encouraged her family to learn, think ahead ‘get your ducks in a row’, serve those in need whenever we could, and always remember our traditions and be proud of where we came from.
Darlene Nolte Moore is survived by her ever-loving husband, Don R. Moore of New Braunfels, Texas; her precious sister, Mary Lee Nolte; a son, Dane R. Moore; a daughter, Dawn Moore McCrimmon; grandchildren, Zach McCrimmon, Jason Garcia, Ryley Moore, Maggie Moore, Andre Moore, Isabella Moore; and one great grandchild, Damien Garcia. She was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Chester and Clara Nolte, of New Braunfels, Texas; as well as a granddaughter, Avery McCrimmon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Darlene’s name to Special Olympics Texas, 1804 Rutherford Lane, Austin, TX 78754; or to help in establishing a bench that will be erected at a later date, at New Braunfels Puppy Playland, 590 Schwarzlose Road, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
