Delores Ann Spicer (Petta), was born in Stevens Point, Wisconsin, September 20, 1935, the daughter of Vincent R. Petta and Anna Madeline Gosh Petta (deceased). Mrs. Spicer died on July 9, 2025 at 89 years old in Flower Mound, TX.
Preceded in death by husband, Thomas E. Spicer, to whom she was married for 68 years; and sisters Lorraine Jacoby, Marilyn Jane Archuleta, Phyllis Ann Petta and brothers Maurice D. Petta, Robert L. Petta and LaVerne V. Petta.
Survivors include their children, Julie (Robert) England of Flower Mound, TX, Susan (David) Skinner of Dallas, TX, Steven (Debi) Spicer of Highlands Ranch, CO; as well as two grandchildren, Scott Spicer and Zach (Katy) Spicer of Denver, CO; and two great-grandchildren, Kolt and Kade Spicer, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Delores will be remembered as a dedicated, kind, and loyal friend with a sense of humor. She never met a stranger and was eager to help anyone who needed it during her career of high school librarian and English teacher. Delores’ priority was always her family. Her love for them was limitless as was her faith in God.
Delores was a long-time member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church (New Braunfels, TX) and Holy Cross Catholic Church (The Colony, TX) parishes. We have lost a truly remarkable, amiable, devout and loving woman.
Mass of the Resurrection will be at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 386 N. Castell Street, New Braunfels, TX at 10 a.m., Monday, July 28, 2025 with internment to follow in Saints Peter and Paul Mausoleum.
