Doris Ann Schievelbein Ikels

Doris Ann Schievelbein Ikels, aged 81, passed away on Monday, June 16, 2025, in New Braunfels, Texas at home surrounded by family and friends. Doris was born in Guadalupe County, Texas to Milton and Evelyn (Ewald) Schievelbein on January 12, 1944.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, Cammie Talley and husband David, and Wade Ikels and wife Cassie. She is also survived by her sisters, Shirley Smith, and Barbara Borgfeld and husband Harvey. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, and the light of her life, Carson Ikels, Hannah Ikels and Grayson Talley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and too many friends to count.

Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with family present. Following a private burial at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, the family invites you to a Celebration of Life at First Protestant Church in New Braunfels, Texas on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00a.m. A reception will immediately follow in the church’s banquet hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Doris’ name to First Protestant Church or the charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to thank Dr. Heather Banks, the staff at Legend Oaks Healthcare and Rehabilitation, Nurse Terri and Kindful Health Hospice who helped care for Doris over the past several months. The family would especially like to thank Doris’ nephew Brent Borgfeld, and close family friends, Yvette and Ricky Castañeda who helped the family and Doris in her final moments.
