Dorothy Helen Hubertus Moose, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, in New Braunfels, TX. Dorothy was born in Comal County to Joachim and Leonora (Fey) Hubertus on July 13, 1928. She married Odell Moose on November 20, 1948. He died in May of 1985.
Dorothy was a faithful member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, member of St. Ann’s Christian Mother’s Altar Society, Rosary Guild, and a volunteer for the church Thrift Store. After the death of her husband, Dorothy spent as much time as she could with her two priest brothers, Albert & Gerry, whether it was camping, hiking, water rafting, traveling to different states, to name a few. She lived life to the fullest. Dorothy had an infectious smile and never met a stranger. She loved when anyone joked around with her, and she could give it right back! Dorothy was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, as well as her sisters, Rosalie Hubertus and Sylvia Hubertus Erben, and brothers, Arthur Hubertus, Lawrence Hubertus and Msgr. Gerald Hubertus. She is survived by her brother, Msgr. Albert Hubertus, two special nieces and caretakers, Linda Snider (Larry) and Nancy Erben Jackson, as well as several other nieces and nephews; Donna (Bob) Durst, Patricia Perry, Barbara (Alton) Ahrens, Julie (Christine) Hall, Susan Ferguson, Patrick (Pat) Hubertus, Steven (Patty) Hubertus, Bobby (Sandra) Hubertus, Phillip (Sharon) Erben, Jeffery (Judy) Erben, Glen (Michelle) Erben, William (Sarah) Erben, as well as numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, on Wednesday, June 18, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with a Rosary at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will take place Thursday, June 19, at 10:00 am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Mausoleum. A reception will follow at the church hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Ann’s Christian Mother’s Altar Society or St. Joseph’s Chapel.
The family of our dear Aunt Dorothy wish to thank Oak Tree Assisted Living for their kindness, compassion, and all around care of the place she called home.
