

Eldred was the third of five children born to Alfred and Rosa Krueger Schneider of Wetmore, Texas on April 21, 1924.
He met his wife of 70 years at Echo Hall in Comal County; fell in love and were married on October 24, 1942. They resided in Comal County all of their lives where they raised their six children.
He is preceded in death by his wife Milda C. Schneider; parents; children Shirley Ann Short and husband Joe H. Short; Virgil Lynn Schneider; Grand Daughter Kellee DeAnn Eismann-Quinn; Brothers Egon and Elmer Schneider and Sister Erlyne (Mady) Janssen.
Eldred is survived by his sister Evaleen Reimann and her husband Wallace; Daughters Sandra Munoz, Vercille Triesch, Rayne Knowlton and husband Sam, Pennie Schneider-Willett and husband Leo, Daughter-in-law Elizabeth (Liz) Schneider. Grandchildren; Keith Eismann (Jamie), Jack Quinn, Steven Krueger (Andrea), Loretta Price (Andrew), Shanna Hicks (Jason), Staci Rhode (Randy), Dawn Koepp (Chris), Bradley Triesch (Ashley), Shakotah Knowlton (Leslie), Kourtney Sumrall (Andrew), Andrew Willett (Kaitlyn), Kaitlin Willett (Clint); 18 Great Grandchildren and his beloved dog “Blue”.
Eldred served in WWII from April 20, 1942 through October 31, 1945 as a S/SGT in Normandy, Northern France and received a Purple Heart ; Good Conduct; and European African Middle Eastern Service Metals.
Eldred loved the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with family and friends fishing, hunting, farming and ranching. He loved to travel and bowl with his wife and friends. He enjoyed working at Alamo Heights Mobile Station and The Coffee Ranch in Spring Branch. He was also devoted to his businesses over the years to include Spring Branch Store, Schneider’s Restaurant, H & S Trucking Company, and Spring Branch Country Store serving the local community. His hard work ethic and family dedication will be remembered and honored for generations to come.
He is a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Bulverde; Hermann Sons Life; VFW Post #8315; Lifetime Member of Bulverde/Spring Branch Volunteer Fire & EMS; Anhalt, Bulverde Community Center and Spring Branch Bowling Club.
Funeral Arrangements have been made at Zoeller Funeral Home. Public visitation will begin Sunday, February 4th from 1 pm to 4 pm. Funeral Service will be Monday, February 5th at 10 a.m. with interment following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
