
Eva Jean Herring, 84 of New Braunfels, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Village of Garden Ridge. She was born to Roy E. Quillin and Helen (Curtis) Quillin in San Antonio, Texas on July 30, 1932. Eva Jean married Maurice William (Bud) Herring on May 30, 1952 in San Antonio. She worked many years in various fields, as an Accountant for Lack’s Furniture, a Head-start Teacher, and a Secretary for College View Baptist Church. Eva Jean was active in PTA, the American Legion Auxiliary as a Life Member, the Kingsville and New Braunfels Policeman’s Wife Clubs. She volunteered her time to the American Red Cross and Special Needs Children Association. She was a member of the Marion Country Church. She is survived by daughters, Deborah Ann Foster and husband David, LaVon Parker and husband Donald, and Tylene Aaron; son, Charles Herring and wife Carla; daughter-in-law, Liz Herring; grandchildren, Michael Foster and wife Marissa, Matthew Foster and wife Macie, Katie Foster Patterson and husband Rowdy, Robert Parker and wife Marisol, Melody Parker Ayala and husband Bobby, Samantha Parker Jeffries and husband Robert, Taylor Maiorka, and Curtis Herring and wife Aubrie; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Richard Hondo Herring; granddaughter, Megan Herring; and sister, Mildred Wear and husband Ralph. A Funeral Service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
