Evelyn (Folsom) Griffin

Evelyn Folsom Griffin of New Braunfels, Texas went to be with the Lord Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the age of 87. She was born on August 11, 1935 in McMillan, Oklahoma to Lonnie Folsom and Mae Buckhanan Folsom.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Mae Folsom; loving husband of 51 years, Jerry Griffin; brother, Lee Folsom; sisters, Faye Damron, Mildred Fleming, Bonnie Stowers, and Joyce Campbell. Evelyn is survived by her son, John Griffin (Robyn) of Las Cruces, NM; son, Mike Griffin (Polly) of Houston, AL; daughter, Bonnie Overpeck (Tony) of New Braunfels, TX; and son, Richard Griffin (Sonja) of Cypress, TX; grandkids, Kristyn Itani, Ryan Griffin, Maderick Griffin, Jerry Griffin, Anthony Overpeck, David Overpeck, Savannah Griffin, and Isabella Griffin; and great grandkids, Saydi Griffin, Maximus Itani, Zoey Itani, and Madeline Griffin.

Evelyn was a member of New Braunfels Presbyterian Church. She loved baking for her family. She made the best chocolate chips cookies. She loved all things Christmas. Evelyn also loved telling about her Native American heritage, as a member of the Great Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Most of all she was proud of her grandkids and family. She loved bragging about them. Evelyn will truly be missed by her family and friends.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice.
