May 20, 1944 - August 20, 2025
It is with love and gratitude that we celebrate the life of Frances Louise Murdock, who left this world surrounded by family and love on August 20, 2025, at the age of 81, in Seguin, Texas.

Frances will be remembered for her kindness, humor, generosity, and steadfast faith. She had a special way of brightening every room, always cheerful, often playful and silly, with a smile and laugh that lifted everyone’s spirits. Music was woven into her life; she was often found singing or humming her favorite tunes, bringing joy to those around her.
As a devoted wife and loving mother, Frances poured her heart into her family. She treasured every moment with her children and took immense pride in her 19 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, each one holding a special place in her heart.
Her life was full of creativity and compassion. No matter what she decided to do, she did it with passion and grace. When she waitressed at Steak & Egg Restaurant, she would come home with stories about people because she was serving them from her heart and it was important to her to know people. Oh, and meeting with friends and family about the benefits of purchasing Tupperware, or how to embellish your God-given beauty with Avon products and demonstrating how cleaning your home with a Hoover Vacuum Cleaner would be a breeze and give you more time to do the things you love!
And of course, working at a pet store was right up her alley. She would tell us stories and laugh about the talking parrot "Taco" that was always fooling the customers.
Frances eventually became a professional dog groomer, owning her own grooming salon. Her poodle "Missy" was always wearing the latest trendy hair style, and as soon as her hair grew out just enough, she would come home with another hairdo! Pom Poms, painted nails and of course a spritz of smell good, the pets she pampered, cared for and loved on, were all better for knowing her.
It seemed that wherever she worked during her life, she was either caring for or serving people and/or God’s ‘critters.
Her calling was to rescue and nurture the injured and abandoned creatures. So many could tell of her love! Her horse "Rebel", Dog “Sissy” and Guinne pig “Coco” when she was a youngster, a skunk named "Swifty", an opossum named "Sneakers" a pot-belly pig named “Pig”, a helpless black crow, and not to forget her beloved poodle’s "Missy" & Mitzi "Boo", and cherished cats" "Mouse" and "Baby". Her love for animals was endless. Wild or not, her home was a safe haven for all.
Frances was also gifted artistically and enjoyed oil and tole painting. Her love for nature always showed in her paintings. Her ability to create on canvas the mountains, streams, trees, and wildlife she may have only seen in a picture, or remembered from somewhere she may have been, was truly incredible.
Perhaps her most unique, self-created form of art was her hot-glue creations. Her "Hot Glue Originals" as she dubbed them, were one-of-a-kind pieces of art that had all the beauty of her canvas paintings, but an added sense of texture and dimension. She formed and sculpted each piece of art with hot glue, a few tools and then painted them to life!
No matter where she was, Frances was always seeing things for what they could become. A twisted branch, patch of moss and some embellishments of her own would become the most beautiful nature-inspired floral arrangement. She was always looking for just the right smooth stone that she could paint on and it would be transformed into a cat snuggled up in a little bed, or even a family of owls sitting on a branch.
Her ability to work with her hands to create things of beauty was an extension of her heart.
Rarely did she ever craft something that she did not have someone in mind to bless first. And just know if you mention something you love to her, (deer, horses, cattle, raccoons, Indians, flowers, wagon wheels, bunnies, or anything else) you might just end up with a painting, earrings, necklace, picture frame or other hand crafted treasure that was created just for you, from her, of your favorite thing!
But truly, the most important craft projects of her life were her family and friends. When she looked at each of us, she saw a unique little branch or stone with a special potential that God has given. Always crafting and sculpting her family and friends to be more like Jesus.
May we all carry with us a heart as big as hers, a sense of humor to laugh and count our blessings, the ability to see the beauty of God's creation and the potential of what can be. May we have hearts for the lost, abandoned, and hurting and be a refuge and safe haven to the ones who have gone astray. May we grow our family along the way because a stranger we never knew. May we be a blessing, as she, to those we meet each day in all we say and do.
Frances leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregivers Erika, Laurie and Dawn who loved and cared for Frances like she was part of their own family. You are true angels, and we appreciate all that you have done and do for our family.
A special thank you to Bill and Frances’ longtime friends and Pastor (Retired): Donnie, and Mickie McCarter.
2 Chronicles 7:14 (KJV)
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
