

Sylvia Geraldine Lasseter was born to the late Claude J. Lasseter, Sr.
and Aileen Burleson in Ft. Worth on March 24, 1934 and was one of ten
siblings. Jerri attended Texas Christian University and graduated Magna
Cum Laude from the University of Houston. She was a member of Kappa
Delta Pi, Honor Society, and was a certified teacher. She married the
love of her life, Bob Mayer, in England on August 20, 1955 and they
enjoyed 57 years of marriage together. Jerri & Bob raised their boys in
Houston before retiring in Seguin in 1992.
Jerri was a wonderful cook and a skilled gardener. She inherited her
mother’s love of flowers and her father’s love of cooking. Mr. Lasseter
was a chef at the Baker Hotel in Mineral Wells. She was passionate about
family and adored her grandchildren. Jerri was an exceptional hostess
and had a gift for entertaining and making others feel loved and
welcome. She enjoyed working logic puzzles to keep her mind sharp. Jerri
was beautiful inside and out, had a huge heart, and will be missed
dearly by all that knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Laddie Mayer, two sons: Charles
Robert Mayer and wife Darla of Corpus Christi, and Phillip James Mayer
of Austin, daughter-in-law Gail Mayer, and four grandchildren: Tennyson,
Ryan, Kristen and Kara.
Funeral service will be held at First United Methodist Church in New
Braunfels on Monday, April 1st at noon. Burial will follow at Ft. Sam
Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
