I miss my son, Greg, so much.  I love him so and love and feel the pain of my daughter, Greg's sister, Maryanne, and her husband, Robert, my daughter-in-law, Donna, my grandaughters, Quinn and her husband Matt, and Hayley, and my 6 year old grandson, Corey, who misses his Uncle G terribly and asked "Who will bbq my hot dogs for me?" and "who will carry me on their shoulders?"

I am still numb with grief but a co-worker sent me a prayer that I would like to post here that has helped me so much.  It is called the "Hopi Prayer"  - "Do not stand at my grave and weep, I am not there, I do not sleep.  I am a thousand winds that blow.  I am the diamond glints on snow.  I am the sunlight on the ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn's rain.  When you awaken in the morning hush, I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds in circled flight.  I am the soft stars that shine at night.  Do not stand at my grave and cry:  I am not there, I did not die".

I will look up into the sky and see my angel son floating on a cloud or feel him as a raindrop touching my cheek.  I love you Greg.  Mom "Carole".

My Dear Brother Greg, 
Remember when you won the Soap Box Derby? I thought my big brother was the coolest. Remember all those Sundays of having to dress up to go to church? Remember Nana who made awesome Italian food? I have so many fond memories of our days as kids. And, some not so fond, like when I snuck your Woodstock album and you found it out of order. Boy were you ever mad at me! Who knew you kept your albums in alphabetical order?! Although we had our share of sibling spats, I know in my heart that you loved me and you knew I loved you too. Thanks for being a wonderful brother- in-law and golf partner to Rob and a fantastic uncle to Corey. Rest peacefully, big bro.

Greg was a wonderful person and excellent News Director. As News Director at the Sinclair station in Nashville, I not only worked with Greg, but we became friends. He was passionate about his work but doted on his family. He had a great sense of humor and I enjoyed talking to him and catching up. He was down to earth and just an all around great guy. I miss him very much. My prayers to his family, friends and co-workers. Ken Smith

      It was about 11:10 pm on almost any weekday in the early 1980's and Greg was holding together a newscast he'd spent the evening producing, trimming a paragraph here...a few words there and half a sentence  anywhere he could...just to keep from having to cut a whole story out of the newscast.Each one had been deemed important enough to get in...and every night..some form of everything important did. 
    Get this...he was doing it with a wide sharpie standing by a trail of paper passing along a coneyor belt....the original teleprompter at Channel 8 in Reno. Ed Pearce and I just watched and followed along. We were the anchors but it was always Greg's show. 
        Greg was the best producer I ever worked with ( and I've worked at 5 stations in 2 states over the past 25 years!) And he was a devoted loving husband to Donna. 
      It snowed on their wedding day in Tahoe....in likeJune or July. But they always knew how to turn anything important into a great adventure. 
      I am so sorry for your loss Donna, (and Quinn and Hayley)  While I haven't been in touch for years I have thought about you often. And am thinking about you all today.

Greg was the first news director I met when I became the media coordinator for FBI-San Antonio in 2005. As soon as I met him and shook his hand I knew immediately that he was a very high quality person.  With his deep voice and his calm confidence, Greg seemed like he stepped out of a movie about the news business.  So glad to have known him.

Greg had such a wonderful sense of humor. He always made us laugh. I can remember times when we lived closer together, we always had so much fun. The cousins, sister Mary and I and Greg and his sister Maryanne, used to go hiking together in the mountains above Lake Tahoe. He loved Lake Tahoe and the nature and beauty surrounding it. I am so glad we were able to spend time with him at my mom's, his Aunt Mary's, 90 birthday party. He was a truly awsome loving man and I take comfort in knowing he's in Heaven and will always be watching over us. We love you all.

Greg was more than a cousin to me, he was like the brother I never had. We had some great times together whether it was just socializing between his family and mine, playing golf, or helping our daughters, Ashley and Quinn, learn to ride their bikes. He was a dear friend to everyone he met. The world is a little darker today with Greg leaving it. But heaven is REJOICING! Donna, Quinn and Hayley, all of our thoughts and prayers are with you.
