Gregory Allen McCarty

Gregory Allen McCarty was born June 1,1966 in Michigan City, Indiana to Robert Lee McCarty and Audrey Van Fleet McCarty. He resided most of his young life in Indiana. Greg served in The National Guard from June 1984-June 1994 as a Specialist 4th Class. Greg began his career in the Scrap Iron Business while working for his Brother in law David Schau at Universal Recycling. In 2002 while visiting his brother Mike and Sister in law Kim, he met their friend Kathleen George. Kathleen an avid Horsewoman was the love of his life for nearly 20 years. He moved to Seguin,Texas and began working at Jim H. Wilson Recycling near Gonzales . He and Kathleen began to build their life in Rural Seguin and recently completed the building of their dream home.

Greg is survived by his wife Kathleen; his Mother, Audrey Younglove of Ft Myers Fl.; Brothers, Robert McCarty of Three Oaks MI, and Mike McCarty (Kim) of Lake Hawkins, Tx; Sister, Susan Schau (David) of Ft Myers Beach Fla. Greg’s Nieces and Nephews were like his own. Bryan McCarty (Kelly), Jessica McCarty (Jeff), Gabe Schau (Ashley), Ryan McCarty Major (Justin) and Summer Schau . And several Great Nieces and Nephews . Greg is Preceded in Death by his Father Robert McCarty and Nephew Adam Schau.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 9, 2023 at Zoeller Funeral Home New Braunfels. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to your Local Dog Shelter or charity of choice.
