

He was born on September 18, 1920 in Parkin, Arkansas to Guy L. Garrott and Susie E. Martin Garrott. He was raised in Memphis, Tennessee and Senatobia, Mississippi. He graduated high school in 1939 and was a Veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corp. as a gunner on the B-17. He was Honorably Discharged in June of 1945.
He married Olivia Nettie Penshorn of New Braunfels, Texas on May 8 1943 and they were happily married for nearly 41 years until her passing in April of 1984.
Guy and Olivia became the owners of UStop-WeHop on Old Highway 81. After selling that business, Guy began working as a Federal Employee at Randolph Air Force Base and eventually retired after 30 years of service. While working at Randolph, he developed Dollar Drive Mobile Home Park beginning in 1970. He owned and operated it until its final sale in 2011.
He married Marjorie E. Garrott of Kansas City, Missouri in December of 1986. They enjoyed their life together and shared many adventures until her passing in May of 2000.
He is preceded in death also by his father, Guy L. Garrott, mother, Susie E. Garrott and brother, Homer L. Garrott, all of Tennessee.
He is survived by his caretaker/loving daughter, Sandra Garrott, sons, Bill Garrott, Robert Garrott and Michael Garrott and daughter, Pamela Timmermann, all of New Braunfels; one grandson and one great grandson of Concord, California; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, all of New Braunfels.
He was a 32 Degree Mason having served over 60 years and a member of the Guadalupe Valley Shrine Club and Masonic Blue Lodge #1109 of New Braunfels. He was Past President of the Eagles Lodge #2999, member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion of New Braunfels. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of New Braunfels. He enjoyed golfing, dancing, bowling and traveling.
Visitation will be on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 5-8 PM Funeral Services will be on Monday, November 24, 2014 at 12:00 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Comal Cemetery with Fellowship directly thereafter at Zoeller Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2999 of New Braunfels, Shriners Hospital for Children and American Cancer Society.
His daughter, Sandra and her children would like to give a special Thank You to Gentiva Hospice, Home Instead Senior Care, Restorative Health Care, and all the other loving and caring individuals and friends who had a part in making her Dad's daily life a little bit easier. We love you all!
Pallbearers will be Guy William Garrott, III, Michael K. Garrott, Jr., Andrew Timmermann, Bradley Timmermann, Brian Timmermann, Jacob Timmermann; Honorary Pallbearers will be Cameron Camacho, Nicholas Timmermann, James Tramel, and Rudy Morales.
