Herman Glen Jones Jr.

Herman Glen Jones, Jr, of New Braunfels, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at the age of 60. Herman, better known as Glen, was born on March 1, 1956, to Herman, Sr. and Rose Marie Meiners Jones in San Antonio, Texas. In his youth, the family moved from San Antonio to New Braunfels. Glen graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1974.

On April 30, 1983, Glen married Carolyn Hanz Mitchan in New Braunfels at their home. Glen helped Carolyn raise three children; Scotty, Sherry, and Stacy. Glen loved and raised his step-children as if they were his own. Glen worked as a plumber, and in 1987 he started his own business, Jones Plumbing. Glen did not only know plumbing, but he knew many aspects of the construction business and built several houses. Glen was an avid bowler, fishermen and gardener! He loved to go tank catfishing and bay-fishing in Rockport. Glen also loved vegetable and flower gardening. He kept bright, colorful plants lined up on the front and back porches for Carolyn and he to enjoy. Glen was a wonderful, loving grandpa who loved to teach his grandchildren his hobbies and tell them stories from the past. He loved to spend time with his family at the coast fishing and working together in the garden.

Glen is survived by his wife, Carolyn; son and daughter-in-law, Scotty and Rosie Mitchan; daughter, Sherry Guerra; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Michael Garcia; grandchildren, Brandy and Eric Mitchan, Sianna, Lee, and Anthony Guerra, and Morgan Garcia.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Herman, Sr. and Rose Marie Jones.
