Hilario V Nayola, better known as Larry, took his final bow out of this world and awoke fully restored into God's glorious Kingdom on May 4th, 2022. Family and friends who knew and love Larry would most definitely agree that when God created Larry he certainly broke the mold on that 8th of January in the year of 1979 in Sierra Madre California.
Larry is preceded in death by: Olivia Bernal Nayola (mother); Celia Bernal (grandmother); mothers side Benigno Bemal (grandfather); mothers side Hilario Nayola( grandfather); fathers side Virginia Longoria (grandmother); Isiah Chico Alvarado (Nephew).
Larry is survived by Jessica Nayola (wife); Children - Hilario Valentine Nayola (first born son); Benigno Bernal Nayola (second born son); Michael Anthony Nayola (3rd born son); Isaac Gabriel Nayola (4th born son); Lilliana Gina Nayola (5th born, only daughter); Joseph Christian Nayola (6th born son); Alan Christopher Nayola (7th born son); Timothy Elijah Nayola (8th born son); Step Children - Tristian Devon Morales; Julian Manuel Morales; Davina Marie Lopez; Father - Hilario Valentin Nayola Sr. (father); Siblings - Vanessa Liane Alvarado (oldest sister);Benigno Bernal Nayola (middle brother); Gina Nicole Haynes (youngest Sister).
Being born into the 80s and as a large part of the collective generation X it was a unique time to be alive and Larry exhibited that in everything he did, from the skateboarders he emulated down to the very clothes he wore, like that one year he wore army fatigues and walked around with a crossbow quoting Rambo. Out of all the heroes and cool action stars Larry looked up to none were cooler than his real life hero our Dad (his best friend). Shadowing Dad wasn’t uncommon, in fact he shadowed our Pops until the day he died stating clearly, he'd never leave his side. Dad was his best friend, and he mentioned it every day, also teasing he was also the favorite child.
In Larry's early years he could only be described as a brainiac and a joker with a crude sense of humor that only his baby sister could match, I am that baby sister. Being the eldest son was a demanding position that led to the torturing and pranking of his siblings daily with his little brother Ben generally serving as his wingman. Vanessa and little Gina were often at the receiving end of those lessons. The relationships he held with his siblings were all equally as important, not one did he hold higher than the other. Larry and Vanessa or Ness The Best, as we call her, served as the generals over our siblings spending most of their time bickering and bumping heads and the other half, loving and guiding each other through the very winding roads of life. Little brother Ben or as Larry called him...Brother Bear spent time being his partner in crime and closest confidante. Last but certainly not least, baby sister Gina, or her more infamous name “Nana”, spent the entirety of her life seeing her big brother as her protector, closest friend and rival comedian. His late mother, Olivia B Nayola, was not immune to his mischief and pranks and you'd often hear the phrase "That’s alright, wait till your father gets home", as Larry giggled in the background. Larry was one of the most intelligent people we knew not to mention his intense philosophical view on life. Larry had many talents, a wealth of knowledge, and a nurturing way about him.
At the age of 17 years old he had his first out of eight beautifully created gifts, Hilario V Nayola.... with Benigno to follow Michael, Isaac, Lilly (his daughter in the water), Joseph, Alan and little Timothy being his last of the mohicans...or as we like to call The Nayola Crew. Each bond being different and unique full of love that ran unconditionally for every one of them .There was nothing he wouldn't do for them. They are his greatest achievements in life, his only daughter being his most prized possession, they continue his legacy.
On September 18th, 2011 Larry met Jessica Gutierrez at a church revival, while Larry opened her heart to the Lord they both began to open their hearts to each other and that is where their adventure begins . On November 7th 2012 they because husband and wife, creating a lifetime of love, three beautiful sons and memories that will never fade. Best friends, soulmates, husband and wife.... their love is forever eternal, here on earth as it is in Heaven.
Whether it was a Saturday night having a barbecue a fire pit going with his favorite jams playing in the background or a Sunday morning service praising the Lord it was always quite apparent Larry was the very essence of what was a real gathering was. He was the life and soul of any get together, a master story teller, as described by his Loving step son, Tristian. Larry relished his new role as a grandfather to his baby grand daughter, Alailah Nayola, loved by his 7 nephews and nieces, admired by his 3 step children, a friend to all, a shoulder to cry on, a person to seek counsel from... no one can ever amount to this man and what he offered this world in his short time here. Larrys greatest joy was family, his sense of humor was like no other, so was his left hook. Everyone has a Larry story, we invite you to share and honor his life with us and never stop celebrating him. As his big sister Ness once said when asked about her little brother," We love Larry in this life, we love Larry in death, as we love Larry in the next life".
He’s found a home amongst the stars, Long Live Larry, until we meet again.
Love,
Your family
