John L. Harper born December 13, 1934 in Harlingen, Texas was released to God on August 9, 2010 in New Braunfels, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia M. King Harper and Raymond Claude Harper, his brother Raymond and sister Charlotte. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Melba Harper; sons, Terry Harper and his wife Pat, Rick Harper and his wife Janet, George Harper and his wife Lillian; six grandchildren Stephanie Fikes and her husband Ronny, Shawn Harper and his wife Alicia, Austin Harper and his wife Jessica, Mackenzie Harper, Lauren Harper and Jacob Harper; five great-grandchildren Jessica and Justin Fikes, Isabella, Bryce and Dillon Harper. Memorial services will be Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Oakwood Baptist Church 2154 Loop 337 North, New Braunfels, Texas. Those wishing to make memorial contributions may make them to Oakwood Baptist Church or the charity of one’s choice.
