Josefina S. Sandoval Caballero

Josephina “Fina” S. Caballero, 88, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at her residence. She was born to Santiago Sandoval and Adela (Maldonado) Sandoval in Martindale, Texas on May 10, 1927.

During Fina’s early childhood she lived in Martindale, Texas where she enjoyed growing up in the country. She later moved to Plainview, Texas and finally to New Braunfels where she lived the rest of her life. Fina was devoted to her Catholic Faith and very active in many church activities, at Holy Family Catholic Church and at Sts. Peter & Paul. She was active in the Guadalupana’s, Cursillo, and a Catholic Charismatic Prayer Group. She was a very loving individual who cared deeply for her neighbors and friends and who loved the company of family. Fina especially enjoyed music, dancing, and going to see her grandchildren at their sporting events.

She is survived by her four children, son, Ramon Caballero and wife Maria of Austin, TX; daughter, Mary C. Juarez and husband Raymond of New Braunfels; son, David Caballero and wife Catherine of Pflugerville, TX; son, Victor Caballero of Austin, TX; grandchildren, April Caballero, Raven Juarez, Raymond B. Juarez, Emilio E. Caballero, Tristan P. Caballero, Noah D. Caballero, Isabella R. Caballero and Christopher S. Caballero; sisters, Elvira Hernandez, Olga Guerrero, Ospicia Garcia; special friend, Mr. Pete Sanchez; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, and sisters.

Public Visitation will begin 5:00 PM Thursday, September 10, 2015 at Zoeller Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass will be held 12:00 noon, September 11, 2015 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with Reverend Tony Pesek – celebrant. Burial will follow in Guadalupe Memorial Park.
