passed away on Oct.5th, 2020 at the age of 82.
She was born in Kansas City, Missouri on Sept. 22nd, 1938 to Heloise and Frank Opryshek.
She and her Sister Marilyn were raised in New Braunfels since they were very young children. Josephine lived and raised her three daughters, Gina, Lorrie, and Dale, in the old Opryshek house. She remained there until her passing.
She is preceded in death by Gina and Lorrie's father, Ronald William Ellman and Dale's father, Jackie Mills, and daughter, Dale Marie Covarrubias and survived by daughters, Lorrie Ellman Cormack and Gina Ellman Cruz, five grandchildren; Travis Schnitz, Sara Terry, Derek Schnitz, Desirae Covarrubias, Julia Robichaux, and six great grandchildren. And, also survived by her Sister, Marilyn Horton.
Josephine was a very active person and throughout her life enjoyed swimming in the Comal river with friends and family. She had other interests that included home decor, gardening and vintage resale. She enjoyed many a festival as she loved costumery and fashion as well as vintage jewelry and glass.
Up until her passing she was still working as a barber and manicurist for the past 56 years in San Antonio, Texas.
Josephine was an inspiration and joy to all who knew her. She entertained and demonstrated a genuine zest for life. She was a special friend and confidant to all who knew her. She is eternally loved by us all.
