Karen Jensen Ferguson

Karen Elaine Jensen Ferguson passed away at the age of 66 on Tuesday, October 21, 2014. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Douglas L. Ferguson, sisters Yvonne Jensen & Bebe Cathcart, brother, Owen F. Jensen III, step children, Lisa Ferguson Nickerson & Barry Ferguson, and numerous nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Jane Jensen and father, Owen F. Jensen II. Karen was born on December 14, 1947 in Houston, TX. She attended the University of Texas in Austin where she received her degree in mathematics and a minor in computer science. Karen worked in the oil exploration field as a geophysical programmer for 15 years. Doug and Karen married on October 18, 1986 and at the time were residing in Pearland, TX. They were happily married for 28 years. After she married Doug, Karen applied her God-given talent as a financial specialist to work as the tax preparer for their rental property business along with managing her parents’ estates. They spent most of their semi-retired life residing in New Braunfels, TX. Karen was a diehard Longhorn Fan. She loved watching her favorite football team play on Saturday afternoons. Karen also had a special gift for caring for the elderly. She took great care of her mother, mother-in-law, and elderly friends in their later stages of life. Karen will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 29th at 1:00 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa, New Braunfels, TX, 78130.
