

On Tuesday, August 23, 2016, Lois “Jean” Trimble, a resident of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side. Jean was born in Springfield, Illinois on October 20, 1920. Much of her life was characterized by service to others. That attribute was particularly notable during the Great Depression and WWII when Jean and her mother developed a Victory Garden to provide food for those in need. Later in life she devoted many years as a volunteer at the Canyon Lake Action Center. Throughout her life she was a gracious hostess, a versatile and exceptional cook, and an avid Bridge Player. As a military officer’s wife, she could turn a bare apartment into an inviting home. During her lifetime, she continuously faced multiple serious illnesses without complaint. In short, she was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Iva Snyder and her only sister, Louise Alexander. Jean was married for 60 years to “Bus” Trimble who passed away in 2006. She is survived by sons: Tom and wife Sally, Timothy, Ted and wife Stephanie, daughters: Carol and husband Al Burrow, Ellen and husband Don Snider, Georgia and husband Pete Williams, 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living Facility and a special thank you to her long time caregiver, Vanessa.
Visitation will begin 8:00 AM Monday at Zoeller Funeral Home with a service to begin at 8:30 AM. Funeral Services will conclude at the chapel.
A Private Interment will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Brookdale Hospice. Arrangements under the direction of Zoeller Funeral Home, New Braunfels, TX.
