Dear Jake, Bobette and I wish to express our deepest sympathies to you and your family.Eva will always be remembered for her laughter and outgoing ways. I first met her when you brought her to my new years eve party in 1967 in Roseland on the southeast side of Chicago.we liked her from day one ! Full of fun !She is in our thoughts and our prayers

Dearest Jake, Stephanie & Stephen,

So great a loss as that of your precious, loving mother breaks your heart in pieces, but, the hope of eternal life with Jesus comforts that breaking heart knowing Jesus has prepared a place, a beautiful, incredible place for his kids, where there is no pain, heartbreak or sickness! only pure joy!
Friends with Jake since school days with memories of Jake working at "Louie's Koffee Kup", we called it "Happy Days" where the teens hung out and Jake brought Eva back from Germany as she fit right in with the old gang; many parties, chock full of  laughter & fun as we cherished our  carefree & hopeful young lives. So glad we got to reminisce the good old days with Eva & Jake in Texas, staying at the house, even got to go to the German Club meeting & party one night. So enjoyed Eva's most spectacular   flower garden and pool. Eva always had the #1 flower garden wherever she lived!! Wonder if she's gardening for Jesus now?

Jake, Stephanie, Stephen, and families, we send you all, our prayers, love, and sympathy at this time. We have many special memories of Eva. Jake, we have been friends since Vanderpool days, so when you brought Eva home with you, and we met her, we were so very happy for you! And we all got to know her from hanging out at Louie's, and just all the things we did as young marrieds!!! What fun times we had over the years! So glad we were able to catch up again when you moved to Texas.. so many years had passed, but seemed like those 40 some years just disappeared. And we had more good times, and good memories in San Antonio!
We all have been blessed by knowing Eva. A very special lady!!!   May the Lord comfort you, and strengthen you, with His love, and the love of family and friends.

Landon told me a story of one time he stayed with you guys when he was working in San Antonio. I think it was when Eve introduced him to Mexican Coffee! Eve had asked him what time he to be to work in the morning, so he told her around 5-5:30. When he got up the next morning, he woke up to the smell of bacon. He came into the kitchen & asked he what she was doing. Her answer was "This is my house. I'm retired & this is what I do." She proceeded to kiss him on the forehead & told him that she "was going back to be & to have a good day."

She was an amazing woman who will be forever missed. Thoughts & prayers for you all. Hugs for you, Jake

Maria was such a special lady, she was tough and strong.  One thing for sure is she loved her family deeply.  I truly admired and looked up to her.  She was a great co-worker, always there to help. I loved hearing the stories of her upbringing and her mom and sisters.  I am so sorry we didn't get to spend more time together, especially once she moved to Texas.  And one thing for sure she truly loved her grandchildren.  Whenever we did speak she always filled me in on what was going on with Steph and Stephen.
Jake, I am so sorry for your loss she was truly one of the good ones, and she will sorely be missed.
I love you girl, but I know you are in a better place and I will see you again one day.

I remember being with my Uncle Jake and Aunt Eve, growing up and my folks dropping myself and brother off at their apartment for weekend stay.Jake and Eve, had planned a trip to Starve Rock Park, for both of us and our cousin's  Jack and Ellie, we arrived and started to walk up to the public trail, Eve's idea was to Blaze our groups own trail, and that's exactly what we all did ,with her leading the way. That's the way I will alway's remember her,Leading the way.

We will miss Eva so much.  She was a special lady, a lot of fun, and cared so much about her friends and family.  We are so blessed to have known her.  Rest in peace Eva.

I remember Aunt Eve picking up my brother Bob and I in her VW. Hung on for my life. She was full of love, laughter, adventure and understanding. The sun will shine less bright in Texas without her. Love and condolences to Uncle Jake, kids and grandkids. Love Dan & Gwen Sternberg

I glad you have the picture of Eve laughing. She had a great laugh and a good life.

Ever since she moved to Texas, I have missed her presence at our Thanksgiving table and how her booming laughter filled the room. She will be forever missed, and I will be forever grateful for knowing her. I love you Aunt Eva.
