Marvin was a lifetime member of St Paul Evangelical Church. He was drafted into the army in January 1951 and was sent to Japan and then South Korea where he fought on the front lines. He came home safely in December 1952.
Marvin did a lifetime of farming row crops, raising cattle, sheep, and chickens, and was a beekeeper while he also worked at Schertz Bank and Trust for 41 years. If there were any time left, Marvin would enjoy fishing in a nearby pond or creek with the family, and in the winter months, he enjoyed deer hunting.
Marvin also enjoyed dancing the two-step, the waltz, and the polka throughout his lifetime. He really enjoyed meeting up with his army buddies every few years. Everyone that knows Marvin well can recall how much he enjoys talking about his army days, the reunions, deer and coyote hunting and many other topics. His stories will be truly missed.
