She was born on April 27, 1934 to Fred Doyle and Lela Irene (Brasuell) Mills in New Braunfels. She married Ernest M. Bennett, Sr. on December 31, 1951. Together they raised four children.
Mattie is survived by her husband Ernest, son Monnie and Cindy Bennett, daughters, Cheryl Seidel and husband Doug, and Cathy, and son, Gary and Sally McBride, all of New Braunfels. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Mary Johntson of Escondido, California and Lillian Fielder and husband Kenny of Bulverde, TX. She had 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 10:00 am at Zoeller Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday, February 1, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. Burial will be at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Harmony Baptist Church.
