

She enjoyed a successful career as an accountant serving the Cibolo, Texas community and later moved to New Braunfels, Texas. She loved bowling and working with the youth and senior leagues at Comal Bowl and the 9-pin bowling clubs. Paula took pleasure in the simple things in life. She cherished her family, adored her grandchildren, and leaves behind beautiful and lasting memories. She enjoyed traveling across the country and spending time at the coast. She liked reading, gardening, rooting for her Dallas Cowboys and San Antonio Spurs, and was always fond of butterflies.
Paula is survived by her husband, Robert Brissenden, her children: Leslie Voorhies and husband Dereck, Aaron (AP) Shaw and wife Skye, Tammy Hardin and husband Matt, David (DJ) Kierum Jr. and wife Joy, her stepdaughter Laura Cooper, eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, nephew Billy Thomas and wife Samantha, two great nephews, a great niece, and her beloved Yorkie, Izzie (her favorite child). Paula was preceded in death by her parents Billy Paul and Nelda Thomas, sister Brenda Harper, and brother Curtis (Curt) Thomas.
Known for her warm, loving, and caring nature, Paula always thought about others and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. A memorial ceremony will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome but not necessary.
