

Rex Lee Brown, 82, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family after a long and courageous journey with his health. He was born on August 30, 1943, in Houston, Texas, to Rex Carley Brown and Helen Grace Brown. Rex was a resident of New Braunfels and had just moved to Cypress.
Rex was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Germany and served in the 10th Engineer Battalion, part of the Third Infantry Division. He held the rank of Specialist Fourth Class. He was honorably discharged in 1982. He was a Master Mason for more than 60 years and was recently recognized by the Masons of Texas.
Rex worked for Southwestern Bell/AT&T for 40 plus years, retiring among the highest ranking in seniority.
Rex had a joyful spirit, a wonderful sense of humor, and could light up any room he entered. He had a special gift for storytelling and formed lasting friendships with young and old wherever he went. To Rex, friends were family, and he cherished each one deeply.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Brown; his sons, Rex Lynn Brown & wife Lisa of Katy, TX, and Rodney Brown & wife Susan of Cypress, TX; his grandchildren, Rex Robert Brown, Shane Brown, Rodney Austin Brown, and Brandon Brown; his brother, Billy Brown & wife Lupe; his niece, Helen Schulke; his nephew, Bryan Brown; and a wealth of dear friends.
Rex was welcomed into his eternal home by his Lord and Savior and reunited with his parents who preceded him in death.
On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, a Visitation will be at 12 noon, and a Celebration of Life service will be at 1:00 p.m., with family and friends, as we gather to honor his life and the promise of everlasting life.
