

Robert (Bob) Boring of New Braunfels, Texas passed away on August 25, 2010. He was born March 9, 1922 in Gonzales, Texas to the late I.W. and Lorena Duke Boring of Gonzales. He married Ellouise Sneed on June 11, 1949 in Houston and she preceded him in death on January 8, 2001.
He was retired from the Federal Aviation Administration Air Traffic Control Division. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1940 through 1946. His ships saw action at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, Battle of the Coral Sea, Battle of Midway, and he was injured at Guadalcanal.
He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Fraternal Order of Elks.
Survivors include one son, Robert (Bobby) Boring, Jr. of Georgetown, Texas; one daughter, Paulette Kelly of New Braunfels; one grandson, Shane Boring; four great-grandchildren, all of Midland; numerous nephews, nieces, great-great nephews and nieces.
Visitation for friends and family will be at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa, New Braunfels, Texas on Saturday, August 28th from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, August 29th from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be held on August 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Gonzales Memorial Cemetery, Gonzales, Texas.
